Interactive Floorplans: File Formats and Set-Up Times

Grip works with MapWize on providing interactive floorplans for leading events across the world.
There are different file types that we can work with but they result in different timelines and potentially in increases in costs if significant work is needed.
The three ways floorplans can be provided are:
  1. Preferred: Designed .ai or .SVG files with POIs (booths numbers, restaurants, etc. written as TEXT)
    1. Time: Approx 2 days (depending on the size of the event)
  2. Not designed .ai or .SVG files with POIs (booths numbers, restaurants, etc. written as TEXT) =
    1. Time: Approx 3 days (depending on the size of the event)
  3. CAD or png (full image) file = Approx 5 days (depending on the size of the event)

The timelines are estimates and other things could also have an impact on the timeline, to limit the chance of last-minute surprises and guarantee a successful rollout we've listed some best practices below:

  • Ensure the exhibitor booths are present within the exhibitor listing.
  • Ensure that the booth nomenclature matches that of the ones we get in the exhibitor listing. ie. Booth 123 or Hall12AC
  • Sessions locations will also need to be an exact match on what we have in the Event Agenda and the floorplan we are provided with.
